Yesterday I gave you your first homework assignment if you want to start loving your business, making more money and having less stress.
If you missed it, go read my blog.
Why is a database so important?
Let me let you in on a little secret that my friend Dave Dee shared in his e-newsletter yesterday. If you don't get his e-newsletter, you can read his post here.
The woman he was talking about was me.
I have these little marks on my face that no one but me cares about. But, I'm ready to do something about them and have been considering some sort of laser surgery.
Now, you know these laser places are a dime a dozen. Lo and behold, right when I'm thinking about it a newsletter/marketing piece comes to my house from a business that does just what I need.
And, although the marketing piece is missing some crucial elements (I'll have a critique for you in this months OFFline Law Business Secrets newsletter), it had what was most important, which is they got their message to me at exactly the right time.
So, I call the number they list and get an answering service (it was early in the morning) and I left a message.
Guess what? I never got a call back! How much do you want to bet the owner of this company is whining and moaning that he spent all this money on marketing that doesn't work?
As Dave said - It's Not the Marketing Dummy!
I have to admit. I used to be a dummy too. I lost leads ALL THE TIME. I shudder to think of the big dollars I flushed down the drain because I didn't have a database or a system for following up with my leads.
Don't lose another dollar, get started on your database today, that's the first step.
Dedicated to Helping You Love Your Practice,
~ Alexis
PS - I'm doing my darndest to get Michael Gerber, author of the E-Myth to be my first guest on the monthly Law Business Secrets tele-coaching call, which will be on February 27 at 9:30 am PST. If we are able to coordinate our schedules, I will open this first call to ALL Law Business Secrets e-newsletter subscribers, even if you are not an Inner Circle member, so you can get a taste of what membership is all about. So mark your calendars now and I'll keep you posted.
